Scholarship History

Since 2009, Sports Travel Hawaii (STH) has been privileged to provide travel accommodation services for thousands of Hawaii’s youth and high school athletes, coaches, family members, and supporters. STH is a family owned and operated company located in Honolulu, HI that is committed to supporting the educational and athletic pursuits of Hawaii’s children.

The goal of this scholarship is aimed at alleviating some of the financial burden Hawaii’s youth and their families face when their child attends college on a different island or on the continental US.

Recipients of the STH college scholarship will receive a round trip airline ticket for their travel between Hawaii and the city of their respective college or university. There will be two recipients of the STH college scholarship for 2026.

Application materials will be accepted between NOW and 30APR2026 for awards that can be used for travel completed by 2026. Recipients of this year's College Scholarship will be notified by 15MAY2026. 

*Scholarship winners must use roundtrip airfare for their 2026 fall semester*

To Apply

  1. Complete the General Application Form.
  2. Submit a video on Youtube introducing yourself (name, where you are from, college you attend/plan to attend, and major) and answer the following prompt: If you could make one positive change in your school, team, or community, what would it be and why?
    We are looking for videos that express creativity, thoughtfulness & inspiration. Videos should be around 1-2 minutes. Please email the Youtube link with your other application materials.
  3. Provide a resume or CV in PDF format. It should include your education, work/volunteer experience, extra-curricular activities, honors, and awards. Please include your name and page number on each page. 
  4. 1 letter of recommendation in PDF format. Recommender should be a coach or teacher who can describe your personal strengths, leadership potential, and ability to overcome adversity. 
  5. All application materials need to be submitted via email in PDF format to info@sportstravelhawaii.com. Applications can be submitted between NOW up until 30APR2026. An email response will be sent to confirm receipt of your application.

Eligibility

  • Be a Hawaii resident
  • Attain a high school diploma
  • Be enrolled or admitted to attend an accredited two or four-year college/university located on a different island from your residence or on the continental US for the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Be a current or former client of Sports Travel Hawaii
