Updated COVID-19 Travel Procedures

For Interisland Travel:
Effective from June 15th, 2021, there will be no pre-travel testing requirement, vaccination requirement or need to self-quarantine for travel between the Hawaiian Islands. You will also no longer need to register with Safe Travels if your travel is fully within the State of Hawaii.
For Domestic Travel:
Effective from June 15th, 2021, there are 3 options in which you may choose from in order to enter the State of Hawaii from the Continental U.S.
All of these options include creating an account on the State of Hawaii’s Safe Travels website and completing a mandatory health questionnaire.
These options include:
1) Quarantine: Choose not to take a COVID-19 test prior to departure and complete the mandatory 10-day self-quarantine.
2) Bypass quarantine by taking a pre-travel COVID test…
– The test must be from a state-approved testing provider AND
– The test results must be received and uploaded to “Safe Travels” prior to flight departure.
3) (Effective from June 15th, 2021) Those who have been fully vaccinated in the State of Hawai‘i can bypass quarantine by uploading their completed vaccine card on the “Safe Travel” website.
Note: the use of face masks is still required at the airport and aboard all aircrafts.
 

*How to use the State of Hawaii’s Safe Travels website before your flight*
– Create a Safe Travels profile for all adults on the itinerary
– Add all flight and lodging information
– Complete the mandatory travel health questionnaire
– If you want to be exempt from the State of Hawaii’s 10-day mandatory self-quarantine and have not been fully vaccinated within the state of Hawai‘i, you must have your negative COVID test results from a state-approved testing partner within 72 hours of departure of your last leg to Hawaii.
  • Test results must be received prior to your departure
  • If you want to be exempt from the State of Hawaii’s 10-day mandatory self-quarantine and have been fully vaccinated within the State of Hawai‘i:
    • Upload your vaccination card to your Safe Travels profile
    • Bring your original vaccination card with you
These documents will be verified during the pre-screening process prior to departure or during the screening process upon arrival in Hawai‘i. For those participating in pre-travel testing, if your valid negative COVID-19 test results are not uploaded to the Safe Travels app prior to departure or not made available during screening, you will be required to sign the 10-day self-quarantine agreement.
